Why Ube in Halo-halo?

Purple yam or commonly known as Ube  is used in a variety of desserts, as well as a flavor for ice cream,
filling for “piya-ya”, Swiss rolls, tarts, cookies, cakes, and other pastries. It is eaten as a sweetened jam called ube halayá, a popular ingredient in the iced dessert called halo-halo. But, why Ube for halo-halo?

I asked some of my friends why it should have to put Ube. And here are their random answers.

Nung Jonas said: it give distinct flavour in halo-halo.

April a psychology student believed:  Once we hear the word halo-halo, an ube toping is always been part of it.

Tin-tin a CBA student said: it is yummy

Luke a CHM student thought:   additional flavour, texture and design.

Kuya odie: ube dominates all tastes combined.

Mary: to compliment the taste.

Rizza: It just makes halo-halo special.

They are all right, Ube is one of the best flavour in the food realm.  Any kind of combination will taste good. Ube is the best partner for any assortment delicacies, pastries and most especially the Halo-halo.
