"Poverty is the worst form of violence"
-Mahatma Gandhi

According to the data from the National Statistical Coordination Board, more than one-quarter (27.9%) of the population fell below the poverty line the first semester of 2012, an approximate 1 per cent increase since 2009.Population become the biggest dilemma that our country is facing now. It is really sad to know and feel that through this population rate, we can say that our country is now in danger. One of the effect of this inflating population is poverty. While we roamed around the city of Iloilo we see different faces of poverty.

The place in Iloilo City that suppose to be the port of pump-boats going to Guimaras and other places, looks totally ironic.

A little boy does a “cannonball” in Molo.

The scorching heat of the summer sun brings out from these kids the desire to dip themselves in the garbage-riddled water.

Asking for some blessing to those by-passers.

Happiness is not measured by the things you possess but by the people around you.

Relaxing under the shade when the sun is at its peak…

Poverty is enviable but somehow we can lessen this with our helping hands and huge smile. :)
